 There’s the stuff you carry and there’s the way you choose to carry that stuff.

As a busy, active urban person, you carry a lot of stuff. Exactly what you carry depends on such things as where you work, whether you’re going to a party or the gym, and whether or not you have the rug-rats with you.

Sometimes you just don’t have a choice about what you have to carry, but you almost always have a choice about HOW you carry it. In some cultures, people carry their belongings on their heads. Others enjoy pockets.

Those diapers and wipes, the binky and the juice boxes – the accoutrements of parenthood – would all fit very nicely in a big plastic garbage bag. Your smart phone, your wallet, your car keys – just throw them in a paper sack. What about your laptop? It’s probably safest in the box it came in, nestled in Styrofoam and snappy snappy bubble wrap. You could carry your cash and credit cards in a plain white envelope. These are all viable options, technically, but you’ve probably found solutions you like better.

No matter where you’re going or what you’re carrying, chances are that water is part of the mix.
